Criminal Justice Zone

I am about to register for the spring semester but I have a little problem, I want to study clinical laboratory and criminal justice, and I am just wondering if there is a minimum probability that this tow careers can connect to each other

Can a person work in the criminal justice field(corrections, parole, probation, attorney, or any law enforcement capacity) , if being convicted of a DUI going on trial for murder but being found not guilty disqualifies them from being a police officer?
