I want to be sure I get a good job with excellent pay, so I am looking for some insight and help with this decision. I wanted sociology, but was told that wasn’t such a good idea. Plus, what kinds of jobs within those fields would I be able to go for?

I have 2 pety theft charges but have been in college for 1 yr and i would like to do crime scene investigation .woul that be possible with these charges.

I would like to go into forensics, either crime scene investigation, profiling, lab etc. I am also trying to find out what would be a good resource for a list of all the careers available in the criminal justice forensics area.

Which one would be better in the long run? I like the idea of criminal justice more but the only thing I would want to be from it is a Police Officer which I can’t for medical reason.

What is the real reason for having a degree in Criminal Justice if you still have to go through the academy?

Have you ever heard of a way for someone to become a police officer without going through the academy?
I’m asking because I am sick of those commercials pushing people to get a degree in criminal justice. Why spend 4 years in college getting the degree when you could become a cop right now and let them pay for your school if you decide to get a degree later?

I would like to become a detective in the future and right now I’m in my 1st year of college. If you have to become an officer for many years till you become a detective, is it really necessary for me to even get a Masters in Criminal Justice? I would like to really further my education, but does it matter in the field I want to be in to have that Masters degree?
