For Police Officers, is it better to have a Criminal Justice degree or a Psychology degree?

Posted by admin

I’m looking to finish my bachelors and am thinking about becoming a Police Officer when I finish school. Yes, I’m aware that you don’t need a 4 year degree to be a cop, but I plan on finishing my bachelors anyway.

My question is which degree would be more useful in law enforcement? Which will make it easier to get hired and which would be more practical for the job? Thanks!

Because you already exceed the minimum standard of education, your choice of degrees is not going to make a difference getting hired.

It will, however, make a difference later down the line when you are eligible for promotions.
