if someone applied to a police department with a 4 year college degree in criminal justice,?

and admitted to using lsd once, and sold marijuana to his friend one time, is there any chance they would understand? understanding that it was a long time ago?
is there anything he could possibly do to outweigh this behavior?

I think you know the answer. If someone has a criminal history, it is doubtful any police department will hire them.
One fact of life is that there are generally consequences to bad choices in life.

The illicit drug use your degree in criminal justice is great it does not have the selling of the testing process the selling of the marijuana would disqualify you would not have the power to arrest.
