What is the best thing to do with a degree in Criminal Justice?

I am currently going for my degree in Criminal Justice. I had ideas on what I wanted to do with it, but someone told me I couldn’t really do the type of stuff the people do on the show C.S.I for example. I love the crime stuff though, helping people, I am just curious for any ideas.
