Most departments require a 4-year degree to become a probation or parole officer.
A two-year Associate degree in criminal justice can get you into entry-level positions such as a corrections officer, security guard, police officer, corrections treatment specialist, and administrative assistant.
If you are looking to get into positions with Federal law enforcement, you need a 4-year degree along with some professional experience.
